Lauren started singing at the young age of 6.
A live performance at her aunts wedding confirmed her love for music.
By high school she was taking singing lessons , acting and singing in musicals and started getting paid to sing at venues.
Lauren’s band career started around 20 years old with a small two-person band, then a six-piece wedding band where she traveled around New England.
Lauren got married in her 30’s and started a family … During those years, Lauren sang at the popular Chinese restaurant Kowloon.
Once the kids were old enough
Lauren expanded her vocal cords and started singing rock ‘n’ roll and never looked back.
“I was always jealous of the guys who sang the good songs, leaving me with slow love songs! Now I get to sing songs that make people want to dance, shout and jump around. I love feeding off the crowds' energy!!! It’s euphoric for me!"
Fun Fact: Lauren has performed the National Anthem for Bruin alumni games.
Vocals & Guitar
Ed is one of the founding members of Ignite. He began playing the guitar at the age of 15, bass at 14, and drums at 12! He also enjoys when he gets to add in the harmonica and plays the keys with his feet!
Early on, he enjoyed light rock music from Steve Miller, Beach Boys, The Eagles and the like. As a youngster, Ed was snuck in the back doors of local bars at Boston's North Shore to play bass with a local band called "Group Therapy." He later gravitated towards more progressive music with a harder edge which you can still hear in his style. Ed has played shows consistently throughout his life, often with multiple bands at the same time.
Ed is a left-handed guy that plays right-handed! Ed is the softest-spoken member of Ignite but tends to be the most aggressive with his instrument. Music has been and will likely always be his favorite indulgence.
Music Influences: Rush, Aerosmith, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen and Zakk Wylde. Although you can always catch him jamming out to the B-52s, Cindy Lauper, and The Pretenders.
Vocals & Drums
Mitch is one of the founding members of IGNITE. He began drumming at 7 years old and never looked back!
He grew up learning and playing Jazz and big band style of music. He played in a couple of wedding bands in his late teen years and then formed variations of a cover band as well as some original style music with Ed in the early to mid-eighties through the nineties. He left music altogether to raise his family and got the bug a decade ago to climb back into the musical ring!
Why drums?
Because he always wanted to be a rock star and guitar was too hard.
Fun fact – Mitch is left-handed but plays the drums right-handed.
Band nickname is Monkey
Music influences: Boston, Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, Rush, Aerosmith, The Police, Zac Brown, and Queen.
Bass Guitar & Vocals
Clark grew up singing with his 4 older siblings. In 6th grade, he landed the role of the Cowardly Lion in his school’s production of The Wizard of Oz which only helped him develop his love for music.
Clark started playing bass in 2011 when a friend wanted to jam and had a bass for him to play on. Over the next dozen years, he played at different churches if there was a need.
Clark loves spending time with his biggest fan - his son.
Fun facts - A carpenter by trade, Clark ventured into the world of guitar building six or seven years ago, and now only plays instruments he builds.
“I have been told by a variety of musicians I’ve played with that I have a great sound. I attribute that to all the music I’ve listened to over the years - From The Beatles, to Eric Clapton, to 90s
grunge and hip hop and everything else in between - it all melds together when I pick up my bass.”
